All but a handful of the 22 cubs, parents, and siblings had shown up to Delaware State Park and set up camp for what looked liked it would be a gorgeous afternnoon and evening, when the weather started to turn ugly.  For the safety of everyone, we decided to pack it in and cancel the event.  There will be no rain date.  Our next campout will be in October; a date to be determined.

Pack 333 will have its Summer Campout Saturday and Sunday, June 21st & 22nd, at Delaware State Park.

Pneumatic Rockets

This year Pack 333 tried a new type of space derby - pneumatic rockets are created from card-stock paper and launched from a compressed air launcher constructed of PVC. Dylan Buford and Benedict Noonan constructed the launcher with their dads and Ben’s sister, Cordelia, for the Evening Street Sceince Fair earlier this year. The launcher was constructed from plans that are available from SpaceTEC® in conjunction with Brevard Community College. With the appropriate fins these paper rockets can fly farther than a football field.

The winners of this year’s inaugural Pneumatic Rocket Space Derby were:

The Space derby has been rescheduled to be part of the Blue and Gold Picnic, Tuesday May 20th, 5:00pm @ Highbanks Metro Park’s Northern Shelter.

Webelo, Grant Canty won Simon Kenton Council’s Buckeye District’s 2008 Pinewood Derby Patch Design Contest.

The 2008 Cub Pack 333 Pinewood Derby was a rousing success: from 19 Cub entrants to 6 entrants in the Sibling Division to 6 entrants in our newest division the Akela Division. And the winners are:

The Pack 333 March Pack Meeting has been moved to Wednesday the 19th due to a scheduling conflict w/the PTA.  We will still meet in the Evening Street Cafeteria at 7:00pm.

The annual Pack 333 Raingutter Regatta will be held this Saturday at Worthington Presbyterian Church. Boat Check-in begins at 9:30am and the races start at 10:00am. If you would like to help set-up please arrive at 9:00am.
